I keep a running list of “great” ideas for photography or design series. Most of my strokes of brilliance don’t last the day, but occasionally I manage the follow-through to sketch, execute, edit and even complete an idea (or at least the beginning of one).
Like much of the internet, I’ve become enamored by infographics — reading them, creating them, reading about them. Creating an infographic, however, requires extensive research, planning and time. I find myself moving onto a new topic before I’ve finished gathering data for the last one.
There’s one topic for which I already have all the data : ME — and more specifically, my day. In the first of the series, I used various facts that best captured the last 24 hours of my life. How many miles I ran, what I ate, what I saw, what I heard, what stuck with me, what the weather was like. Each infographic entry will have it’s own flavor to match my mood and impression of the day (or week or weekend or event). It will serve as an excellent, regular design exercise.
